Accessibility Statement

988 Maine is committed to providing a website that is accessible to everyone. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to Universal Design principles and version 2.2 of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. 988 Maine is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level A. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
WCAG is developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an international community that develops open standards to ensure the long-term growth of the Web. WCAG 2.2 applies broadly to various current and future Web technologies,  and is testable with a combination of automated testing and human evaluation.
